83 ft Steel Ocean Going Ketch
This sleek lined steel ketch built in New Zealand required extensive repairs to topside fairing as well as storm-related collision damage. The project required containment and climate control to allow the application of an Awlgrip fairing and paint system to treat areas repaired from damage and corrosion.
Lunenburg Foundry’s shipwrights enclosed the vessel and erected working platforms for easy and efficient access to the hull areas and deck. The team carried out extensive fairing rebuilding procedures and careful neutralizing and primer coatings.
Steel repairs to damaged hull areas by Lunenburg Foundry’s and fitters and welders were completed. Finish fairing, surface preparation and sanding were carried out prior to final paint application operations. A change in hull color was combined with an attractive waterline boot top complementing the fine design lines of the vessel.
