M/Y Zein

M/Y Zein operating from the Grand Lido Hotel in Negril , Jamaica , came to Lunenburg Foundry & Engineering Limited in 2000 and 2002 for two major refits. Built in 1928 by Camper & Nicholson she is a classic motor yacht with great history and grace in her 72 year career.

In 2000, after detailed shell plate analysis and removing hull plates, it was revealed that the steel plate and frames needed extensive repairs. This necessitated the removal of most of the aft accommodation areas.

Lunenburg Foundry's experienced welding team was called upon to insert new steel plates where they were needed most. A team of shipwrights and joinery experts replaced the accommodations to their original state. On launch day, after replacement of over 10,000 lbs of new steel, the Zein was ready to show her graceful lines once again.
