YDT-12 Granby

YDT 12 Granby is a medium-sized dive support tender based at in Halifax, Nova Scotia and serving the Canadian Navy.

Lunenburg Shipyard completed a five year refit and inspection on the vessel in August, 2007.  The Granby has a very sophisticated set of dive support systems onboard.  The shipyard tradesmen worked on everything from valves to compressors, including, main engine and propulsion system, steering system, generators and auxiliary engines, deck cranes, anchors, interior decks and more.

Also included in the mid-life refit were a complete hull inspection, shell plating replacement, surface preparation to SSPC-10 near white and a professional application of International Paint coatings.

The refit of the Granby was completed on schedule despite a wide range of extra work and conflicting projects on board this 80 foot vessel.

The staff at Lunenburg Shipyard received several accolades from the Quality Assurance Representative with regard to work quality and on-time completion.
